Bushels and bushels per hour

Compare storage capacity and operating throughput without mixing them.

Storage is an amount

Bushels describe the grain a storage vessel holds under its stated capacity assumptions. Separate dry storage from wet holding and loadout storage. A facility total may combine vessels that serve different jobs.

Throughput is a rate

Bushels per hour describe movement or processing under stated conditions. Ask for dryer capacity at the crop, incoming moisture, target moisture and operating mode that match your operation.

Check the whole path

Review receiving, drying and dry-grain takeaway together. The slowest stage on a continuous path limits that path under those assumptions. Intermediate storage can buffer a delay, but it does not permanently increase processing capacity.
